Firstly, if you can get your book published
by a traditional publishing house, congratulations, you’ve
just hit the publishing jackpot!
But what about the thousands of people who
could wallpaper their house (and probably their neighbours’!)
with rejection slips?
Well, you could pay a vanity press thousands
of pounds to produce your book up to their standards (whatever
they may be), for them to let copies just sit in their warehouse
going nowhere doing nothing. There’s no doubt that it’s
hard to get a book, any book, from an unnamed author into
bookshops. Their hit-rate is low, and frankly it’s not
worth their time. They have little to gain from investing
their time in marketing your book (after all, they’ve
now got your money!) The main reason that people go to them
is because they don’t know how to get their book produced
any other way.
That’s where we come in.
The most important difference is that
we are Presta Book Production. We are not
publishers. We are not going to market or distribute your
book because that's not what we are good at.
We want you putting your money where it can do the most good,
producing a professional, quality product that bookshops will
want to stock.
